Safeguarding at Robert Sandilands Primary School

Robert Sandilands takes its responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in its care seriously.

At Robert Sandilands Primary School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We have a strong safeguarding culture and robust procedures in place. All our staff are trained annually and we follow this up throughout the year with further updates as necessary.

Sometimes, when there are concerns about a child's welfare, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

Our team uses CPOMs to record and manage all safeguarding concerns promptly and effectively, ensuring that every detail is captured.

If you are concerned about a child's welfare, you can:

or contact the police

If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff, please ask to speak to a DSL in confidence. They will refer the matter to the Headteacher (or the chair of governors if the concern relates to the Headteacher) and our procedures will be followed.
